The U-M Hillel is pleased to be able provide a variety of opportunities for U-M students, faculty, and the broader Ann Arbor community to be able to come together to observe the High Holidays. In order to best celebrate the diversity of Jewish life and practice on campus we currently host Orthodox, Conservative, and Reform High Holiday services that brings together hundreds of students at this important time of year. Students are also welcome to sign up for High Holiday meals. Holiday meals that coincide with Friday night are free for students. (This does not include the Pre-Fast meal.) Other meals can be reserved and paid for below. Rosh Hashannah Meals Yom Kippur Other Fall Semester Holidays Right after Yom Kippur many students come to Hillel to build the community sukkah where lunch and dinner are served every day. There is often a community-wide celebration of Simchat Torah, and Chanukah is celebrated with menorah lighting both at Hillel and in residence hall lounges. To reserve and pay for meals for these various holidays you can use the links below: Sukkot Shmini Atzeret/Simchat Torah Winter Semester Holidays In past years Hillel students have organized special seders for Tu B'Shevat, including a seder put together by the Hayerukim group. Purim is BIG at Michigan with costumes, all kinds of groggers (noisemakers) and two different megillah readings. PASSOVER |
