The Programming Board is comprised of the thematic student chair positions in Hillel. These leadership positions are elected by the student body each fall and oversee the programming and student leaders in their thematic area during the year. Programming Board Areas: Israel: Oversees all of Hillel's Israel programming and working with other groups outside of Hillel whose focus is Israel. Current Israel Chair: Danielle DePriest, depdanie@umich.edu Hey, my name is Danielle DePriest and I知 your Israel Chair on Programming Board. I知 from West Bloomfield Michigan and at Michigan I知 a student in the Ford School of Public Policy. I absolutely love Israel and Hillel and am so excited to be on Programming Board for the upcoming semester. I have had many different Hillel experiences including delivering soup for Jewish Penicillin Hotline and helping plan the Jewish Women痴 Forum Seder. My favorite Hillel experience has been serving as the Vice Chair of the American Movement for Israel for the past two semesters. I love to read the New York Times and listen to all kinds of music. These events can include big-name speakers and musicians like Elie Wiesel, Dr. Ruth, Hadag Nachash, etc. Current Major Events Chair: Sam Frankel, srfran@umich.edu Religious Life: Responsible for the various minyanim/chavurot and Hillel's religious education programs. This chair is also responsible for coordinating all necessary Shabbat arrangements. Current Religious LIfe Chair:Chaim Frenkel, frenkelj@umich.edu Social Action: Committed to education, performance of social action, community service programming, and awareness of issues regarding social justice. Current Social Action Chair:Todd Siegel, tsiegel@umich.edu Hi Everybody! My name it Todd Siegal and I知 your Social Action Chair on the Programming Board. I知 from the majestic Cleveland, Ohio and am a business and psych major here at Michigan. I知 a huge Cavs, Indians, Browns, and Olympics fan and will gladly engage in sports conversations concerning all athletic competitions large and small. I love all types of music but have a particular passion for 90s pop bands, most notably 鮮 Sync (do not even begin to tell me the Backstreet Boys are better). If you ever need a 90s throwback sing-a-long partner, I知 your guy. My favorite TV shows include, but are not limited to, The King of Queens, Seinfeld, and other TBS programming that痴 not Tyler Perry. I値l be a sophomore this year and can always be found either at Hillel or the Law Library. Student Life: Encompasses groups whose purposes include enriching the college experience of Jewish students by educating, learning, or socializing with others who share commonalities. Current Student Life Chair: Allie Gold, goldal@umich.edu My name is Allie Gold and I am from West Bloomfield, Michigan. I am a junior majoring in Program in the Environment studying Urban Planning and will be this years Student Life Chair. Having been an engineer these past two years, I am looking forward to being on central campus and learning how to navigate central campus since I still don't know how to get to the fishbowl. I enjoy playing board games, watching sports, and doing Grandma art projects. My favorite TV shows are Big Bang Theory, Better Off Ted, and Grey's Anatomy. In charge of Welcome Week activities, Open House, Dorm outreach and various recruiting events. Current Student Outreach Chair: Jen Johnson, jensjohn@umich.edu Hi! My name is Jen Johnson and I am your Student Outreach Chair. I'm from Akron, OH and I am graduating in December with a concentration in Psychology and a minor in Gender and Health. I enjoy cooking, reading, traveling, and wearing funky jewelry, and this past summer I had the wonderful experience of working for American Jewish World Service in NYC. After graduation I hope to travel abroad for awhile before hopefully landing back in the Big Apple! My favorite color is cerulean, my favorite cuisine is Indian (or Thai...or Mexican..or---I love food!), and my favorite place on campus to study is the 4th floor of the Ugli. In addition to serving as your Student Outreach Chair, I am also the Business Manager of Kol Hakavod and a co-chair of Jewish Women's Forum...which means you can find me at Hillel almost every day of the week! I am excited to meet lots of new people this year, so please feel free to email me at jensjohn@umich.edu or just wander around Hillel looking for a girl carrying a giant brown metallic bag!
