University Exam Conflicts

The University of Michigan has a policy that assures that students will not be academically penalized for observing their religious holidays (you can find the policy here).

If you have an exam scheduled on Shabbat or a Jewish holiday when taking an exam would conflict with Jewish practice (Chanukah and Purim don't count - sorry), speak to your professor or GSI right away. In most cases they will be very understanding and accommodating. If for some reason you run into one of those rare instructors who isn't, contact the University Ombuds -- he's a wonderful person and will do whatever he can to resolve things. The actual exam conflict policy can be seen here.

Please contact Hillel at 769-0500 for information on the current deadline date for notifying a professor of a conflict with religious holidays.
